Forecast Models and Ensemble Ranges API New

Models API: the forecast from NOAA GFS and ECMWF IFS side by side, with 10th, 50th and 90th percentile ranges from the GEFS ensemble, up to 10 days. Business plan and above.

models.json returns the forecast from named weather models side by side, and ensemble ranges that show how sure the forecast is: NOAA GFS and ECMWF IFS (open data) as they come from each model, and the 10th, 50th and 90th percentiles from the NOAA GEFS ensemble (31 members). Use it to compare models, to show a range instead of one number, or to plan for the worst case.

Values are raw model output on a 0.5° grid (about 55 km), every 3 hours to 6 days and every 6 hours to 10 days: temperature, wind, gust (where the model has it) and precipitation over each period. Percentiles are estimated from the ensemble mean and spread (a normal approximation; precipitation never below 0). For a forecast tuned to the location, use forecast.json.

Available on Business plan and above. Keys on other plans receive error code 2009. Each request counts as one API call.
